Once a dog is scheduled to be euthanized in a shelter, a rescue coordinator will send out emails with the dog's information and photo pleading with the no-kill Rescues to save the dog. Once a dog is "tagged" by a Rescue, a Transport Coordinator is notified of where the dog needs to go.
The Transport Coordinator puts together a weekly run sheet that plots the journey from Shelters to Rescues, moving dogs from state to state. The transport will be cancelled and the dogs will be put down if they can't find a free ride to their destination.
That's where we come in. Every weekend, dogs come from shelters all over the United States and many of them travel across Iowa to various Midwest States and into Canada.
We provide them with a free ride from Bethany, MO to Clear Lake, IA every Saturday. We also provide free transports to dog travel East and West across our State. We provide the vehicle and the gas. We just need volunteers to drive!
