The Pit Stop is located in De Soto on Highway 169. This is a place were new dogs come after being rescued from shelters, puppy mills or found as strays. Here they will get dewormed, de-flea'd, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, micro chipped, and checked for anything contagious before going into foster homes.
We attempt to make The Pit Stop as much like a home environment as possible. Yes, they are allowed on the furniture and hang out on rooms instead of cages.
We understand that all Pit Crew Members are volunteers and have regular day jobs so we do our best to match you to a time and date that works with your schedule - just ask!
Standard care shifts are: Breakfast (7:30am), Lunch (Noon), Dinner (5:30pm) and Bedtime (9:00pm). While we love for the dogs to spend as much time outside as possible, we do need to be mindful of our neighbors. Please keep barking to a minimum and do not let dogs outside earlier than 7:30am or later than 9:30pm.
